Please fill out the form below in its entirety; all fields are required. Please select the category that you feel is most appropriate for your submission. Before making a submission, please read the following paragraphs to decide whether it is likely that it will be approved by the moderators.
In the beginning, the Pants Factory was envisioned as a place for friends and IT professionals to exchange links of primarily a technical nature easily. Before too long, the original vision got lost, and the volume of links posted that did not meet the originally envisioned criteria were being submitted and approved. After a fairly lengthy discussion, some consensus was presumably reached as to what types of links were desired. What you are now reading is an attempt to provide a quick summary in an effort to keep the number of unacceptable link submissions to a minimum.
In a nutshell, acceptable links are those that would be of interest to anyone in the IT community. However, links that appear on a variety of other major sites (not that we consider Pants Factory to be a major site by any means) that it is expected most geeks reading Pants Factory would also be reading, such as CNN or Slashdot, should not be submitted. Basically, if you've found a link that interests you, it probably interests us as well, but if you've also seen the same link on ten other sites, we've likely seen it on at least half of those same sites and others as well, so don't waste your time submitting it for approval, because it won't be approved.
One final point: we all like witty captions for the links that are accepted; however, we do ask that when coming up with a caption for your submission that you write something that gives a decent indication of what the link is to. A caption such as "OMG, what *will* they think of next?!?!?" doesn't really say much. Also, if your submission is not something that would generally be safe for work, please indicate as much in your caption.
